小简介： inekePostma'sthirdalbum“Ajourneythatmatters”islaunchedinJune2007,tocoincidewiththeintroductionofthenewjazzlabelForeignMediaJazzRecords.ThenewCDwillbeavailableinJapanonJuly25thandonSeptember9thintheUnitedStates,followedbyotherEuropeancountriesintheautumn.Hercolleagueandclosefriend,thedrummerTerriLyneCarrington(knownforherworkwithHerbieHancock,WayneShorter,Santana,StanGetzandDavidSanborn)willalsobeamongstthosejoininginthis'journey'.ThealbumcofeaturessomeofthebestmusiciansonthedutchjazzsceneincludingpianistsRobvanBavel,MarcvanRoon,RandalCorsen,bassplayerFransvanderHoevenandguitaristEdoardoRighini.InJune2003,saxophonistandcomposerTinekePostmagraduatedwithhonoursfromtheAmsterdamConservatorywithamastersdegree,whereshealsonowteaches.ShewasawardedtwoscholarshipstostudyattheManhattanSchoolofMusicinNewYork,whereshestudiedwithDickOatts,DavidLiebmanandChrisPotter.Tinekehaswonawardswhichincludetheinternational“SistersInJazzAllStarAward”,theSingerLarenJazzAwardandtheHeijmansAward.In2006,shereceivedthemuchcovetedandprestigious“MIDEMInternationalJazzRevelationoftheYear2006”awardduringaFrenchnationalTVgalabroadcast”VictoiresduJazz”.Herfirstalbum”FirstAvenue”waswellreceivedbothnationallyandinternationally.Itwasn'tlongbeforethesecondalbum”FortheRhythm”featuringTerriLyneCarringtonondrumswasinthetop20intheJazzWeekAirplayChartintheUSAwhereitremainedfor3weeks.Itwasfeaturedontheplaylistofmorethan250radiostationsintheUSA.InNovember2005TinekewentontourintheUSAwiththe“BillieandMe”programincludingartistslikeTerriLyneCarrington,JamesGenus,DianneReevesandNancyWilson.ThetourwashighlightedbyasoldoutperformanceatCarnegieHallinNewYork.InNovember2005aselectionfromherDVD"LiveinAmsterdam”whichisalsoavailableintheUSA(incoproductionwiththeNPSandsupportedbyamongotherstheBumaCultuurfoundation)wasrecordedintheBIMHUISjazzclubandbroadcastedonDutchnationaltelevision.ThisDVDisavailableintheUnitedStates.TherewerealsoconcertsinItaly,FranceandGermanyandatourinJapan.SeveralconcertsareplannedforthisyearatmajorfestivalsincludingthoseinBelgium(MiddelheimFestival),France,Germany,Italy,JapanandHolland(NorthSeaJazz).ThereareplansfornewconcertsintheUnitedStates.OnNovember8th,TinekeandherquartetwillbeperformingattheworldfamousConcertGebouwinAmsterdam.
