简介：GilbereForte(July14,1987),pronounced(jilbear)isanAmericanrapper,songwriterandproducer.Gilberebeganhisbeganhisjourneyfollowingtheseparationofhisatanearlyage,GilbereheadedtoChicagowithhismotherforseveralyearsbeforelandingbackinFlintforashortstintwithhisfather.In1999,GilberefoundahomeinPhiladelphia,whereheremainstodaywithhisbrother,DeNiro.MusichasplayedacentralrollinGilbere’slifesincebirth.Learningfromhisparentstaste,andhealthyvinylcollectionsGilberewasintroducedtothelikesofIssacHayes,RoyAyers,PhilColins,andSadeasayouth.Byage9hewasrecitingrapsfromlikesof2Pac,B.I.G.andOutkast,whichinevitablyledtoGilberepenninghisownsongsbyage12.In2000,songwritinggavewaytoproductionandaninitialforayintobeatmakingwithFruityLoopsandReason.Hissoundcapturedtheattentionoftheneighborhood,whereGilberesoonbecameknownforhismixtapesandforsupplyinglocalsingersandrapperswiththesoundtracktotheirdreams.TheinspirationtotakemusicseriouslyledGilberetopursueadegreeinEntrepreneurship&BusinessManagementatTempleUniversity,whereheenrolledinthefallof2006.AsGilbereprogressedasamusician,hewasaidedbyhisbrotherDeNiro’sowngrowthintheindustry.Workinginradio,brandmanagement,andthroughhisownproductionefforts,DeNiroprovidedGilbereatrustedguidethroughthechallengesofsellingandworkinginmusic.Throughhim,GilberewasintroducedtotheJuniorMusicExecutiveProgramwhichleadtoaninternshipwithStudio609andawardwinningproductionduoDre&Vidal.TheexperienceandexperimentationwithReasonandLogic,alongwithliveinstrumentation,presentedatrueopportunityforGilberetocarveouthisownsonicidentity.Stayingclosetothebusinesswhilebuildinghismusicalfoundationhetookanotherstepinhisprogressionasanartist–teamingupwithfellowproducerfromTemple,Rakib“Raak”Uddin.In2009,GilbereformalizedhisrelationshipwithRaak.ThetwobusilybeganpreparingGilbere’sdebut.ThisFebruary,inconjunctionwithstreetwearbrandBlackScale,theirworkmadeitsdebutintheformofawidelyrecognizedmixtapesamplerGilbereForteisBLVCK.ThereleasehassuccessfullysolidifiedGilbereasastrongvoicenottobeignored.Withhisforthcoming87Dreamsaheadandmomentumbuzzing,Gilbereispromisingto“changelives,moods,andvibes.”
